Even with her wrist pressed against his lips he refuses to take the bait. He was being stubborn, but she could be stubborn as well.

“Take it, Damon. It’ll give you a chance to get out of here. I was only ever going to hold you back anyways.” 

“I’m not leaving without you. I’m not letting you do this.”

What he means to say is ‘I love you’ and ‘If we die, we die together.’

“And I won’t sit back and watch you die. Not when I can do something about it.”

And what she means to say is ‘I love you, too and that’s why I’m going to make sure you live.’


MONDAY IS MY LAST DAY OF COLLEGE
